Resumo:
The aim of this article is to elucidate Sartre’s critique of solipsism present in his magnum opus "L’être et le néant". To the French philosopher, the existence of the other is a de facto necessity that operates a restructuring of the being of for-itself; meanwhile, if we want to reveal the ontological meaning of this restructuring operated through the concrete existence of the other, we must ask the following question: what is the other; what does it mean to be a for-itself against another for-itself? As we shall see, the ontophenomenological examination of the gaze will reveal the other as the one through wich the for-itself receives its objectivity, that is, its being-not-revealed.
