Abstract:
This article proposes an approach in analytical perspective, the philosophical scope, the Christian monotheism experienced in Latin America and more specifically in Brazil. At first, the article tries to tackle the analysis of religious syncretism. The key issue is to reflect on the meaning of the intense process of syncretism to the monotheistic faith. Advancing to the center point, the article envisions analyze the concept of instrumental reason and its interpretative possibilities for the dynamic of the Christian experience under the Pentecostal light. Discerning what is sought is the principles of retribution and prosperity would be no way to instrumentalize religion and faith, supplanting, ultimately, the prospect’s own Christian monotheism.
