Resumo:

Neste texto, vamos apresentar a passagem de Herbert Marcuse pela Escola de Frankfurt, cuja fundação completa neste ano seu primeiro centenário. Apresentaremos primeiramente o entrelaçamento da vida de Marcuse com a história do Instituto de Pesquisa Social na Universidade de Frankfurt, em seguida comentaremos a produção de Marcuse como membro do Instituto e depois sua obra quando já formalmente desligado da instituição, mas ainda fiel aos princípios norteadores da Teoria Crítica.

Abstract:

In this text we present Herbert Marcuse’s journey through Frankfurt School, whose foundation celebrates its first centenary this year. First, we describe the interweaving of Marcuse’s life with the history of the Institute of Social Research at Frankfurt University. After this, we comment on production of Marcuse as a member of the Institute, and, finally, we examine his works after he was formally dismissed from the Institute but remained loyal to the guiding principles of Critical Theory.
